Welcome to the Bodleian Images.

The world-famous Bodleian Library is part of the University of Oxford and a landmark historic building.  Known to many scholars simply as ‘the Bod’ the library has its origins in the 14th century and is home to many incomparable collections and archives.

Browse more than 10,000 object images for licensing including manuscripts, maps, rare books and printed ephemera.

What We Offer

Bodleian Images gives you instant access to thousands of images from the Bodleian’s collections and archives.

Users wishing to source an image for ‘academic use’ are encouraged to visit Digital Bodleian where you can browse and download almost a million images of rare books, manuscripts, and other treasures for free.  Please refer to Digital Bodleian’s terms of use to determine if your use is included in this initiative.
