Projection
Power 4 StarterUltra-productive, high-volume high school ball carrier who provides a unique, somewhat unorthodox combination of build, run style, and work load. More than 6,000 rushing yards in first three high school season. While totals have risen, so has per-carry rate: 7.98 as a freshman, 9.58 as a sophomore, 10.53 as a junior. Ideally will get more exposure as a pass catcher, though he doubled receptions from sophomore to junior season (nine to 18). Most effective as a one-cut hole hitter who can get linear as quickly as possible. Occasionally flashes some in-the-hole elusiveness when needed. Not a back who strings multiple moves together in the open field, but capable of subtle second-level nuance to keep runs alive. Displays good acceleration juice in the first 10 to 20 yards. Excellent off-tackle runner who lives in the alley. Limited track data from early high school days, but available numbers reflect on-field evidence that top-end juice does not match initial burst. Redirecting results in some gear-down. Shows some hip-to-knee rigidity, but can use periodic spins and hesitations effectively. Will enter college with high mileage after heavy usage rate in high school (650+ touches through junior year). Bona fide P4-caliber running back who runs hard, shows above-his-weight finishing conviction, and instinctively accelerates to open space to maximize big-play ability.
