Adrien Stevens

Stevens is a big-bodied two-way guard with good size at 6-foot-4 and a strong, 195-pound frame. Offensively, he’s at his best when attacking off the bounce. He’s very dangerous with the ball in the open court, but also has a knack for instinctively making his way through traffic in the half-court. He has the strength and physicality to absorb contact and maintain his angle on the way to the rim, and has started to show more potential to make plays for others as a passer off the dribble. He’s also willing to take smaller guards into the mid-post and exploit mismatches there. Stevens is a capable three-point shooter with room and rhythm, having converted 35% of his attempts from behind the arc in UAA play, but not yet quite as consistent when shooting on the move, with a release point that can drift to the left side of his head.

Defensively, Stevens has the potential to be a real difference maker as his size, strength, and movement skills allow him to guard multiple positions and push opposing handlers off their spots, while he also has a really good nose for the ball (he averaged 1.7 steals per game in UAA play). Long-term, he has a chance to develop into a real stopper on that end of the floor. He’s also a very good perimeter rebounder, who averaged 4.5 boards per game in UAA play, and loves to start the break himself.
