The Fearsome Womb Arc (
Synopsis
The Secret Execution
Yuji Itadori is a student who excels in using his physical gifts in school sports. Instead, he'd rather hang out with his friends in the Occult Research Club.
One day he crosses paths with Megumi Fushiguro, a jujutsu sorcerer from Tokyo Jujutsu High. Megumi is searching for a special grade cursed object, originating from the most powerful sorcerer in history: Ryomen Sukuna.
Yuji's friends in the Occult Research Club accidentally unseal the cursed object and attract curses to their location.
Together, Yuji and Megumi try to fend off the curses but are backed into a corner. Yuji ingests Sukuna's finger to gain his power and manages to incarnate the curse.
After saving his friends, Yuji is put on trial by the Jujutsu Higher-Ups. He staves off a secret execution and becomes a student under Satoru Gojo, the most powerful jujutsu sorcerer. Yuji is introduced to Tokyo Jujutsu High and his only two classmates, including the orange-haired girl of steel, Nobara Kugisaki.
The Girl of Steel
While Megumi recovers from his injuries, Gojo sensei sends Yuji and Nobara on a mission. They're tasked with exorcising any curses haunting an abandoned building in Roppongi, Tokyo.
Nobara doesn't take to Yuji at first and decides to go off on her own. Yuji defeats a curse using a knife given to him by Gojo. Satoru already knows that Yuji possesses enough crazy to be a jujutsu sorcerer. He wants to focus on testing Nobara's capabilities.
Nobara is faced with a curse with enough intelligence to take a child hostage. She places down her weapons and surrenders for the child's sake. Suddenly, Yuji bursts through the wall and saves the young boy, giving Nobara the opportunity to exorcise the weak cursed spirit. They both pass Gojo's test and proves they're plenty crazy.
The Detention Center Case
In West Tokyo City, a cursed womb carrying a potential special grade curse appears suddenly. While Satoru Gojo is away, Kiyotaka Ijichi sends in Gojo's three students to rescue potential survivors of the said event.
Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara all go on their first mission as a trio together. However, by the time they arrive, the cursed womb has already produced a special grade cursed spirit and slaughtered all the inhabitants of the remote detention facility.
Megumi believes that the inmates can't be redeemed or saved, prompting an argument with Yuji. Nobara is then suddenly separated from them and the special grade curse appears from nowhere. Yuji decides to hold it off alone while Megumi goes to save Nobara.
Once Megumi and Nobara are both outside of the center and is safe, Yuji unleashes Sukuna to slay the curse. However, Yuji is unable to immediately regain his consciousness. Free with Yuji's body, Sukuna snatches his heart out and takes Yuji's body hostage.
Megumi fights Sukuna one on one and reveals that he saved Yuji because he wants to save good people. Yuji manages to reclaim his body thanks to Megumi's words but dies as a result.
Yuji's Resurrection
Following the reported death of Yuji Itadori, Pseudo-Geto and three of his allies meet in a public diner to discuss the incident. They were the ones who planted Sukuna's finger and caused the cursed womb to appear.
The cursed spirit, Jogo, is eager to move past this and put an end to humanity so the curses can reign supreme. In order to do so, Geto reveals their alliance must clear two conditions for victory. They first must immobilize Satoru Gojo and second make an ally of Sukuna. Jogo believes that Yuji is dead, but Geto isn't so sure.
At Jujutsu High, Megumi and Nobara lament their fallen friend. Maki, Panda, and Toge take the first-years under their wing. In order to get stronger in the name of Yuji's memory, Nobara and Megumi both agree to train under the second-years in preparation for the Kyoto Sister School Kyoto Goodwill Event. Satoru Gojo returns to the school and learns of Yuji's demise. He instantly pins it on the higher-ups at Jujutsu High for sending his student on such a dangerous mission while his teacher was away.
Satoru has a dream that he will reset the jujutsu world. He spends his time as a teacher despite his overqualified talents because he must train the next generation of students so they can be powerful allies in the coming battles. Inside Yuji's soul, he fights Sukuna for control. The King of Curses agrees to repair Yuji under the condition he agrees to a binding vow, but Yuji refuses. They stake control of Yuji's body on a deathmatch that the human side instantly loses. However, Yuji awakens, returning to the world of the living and is reunited with Gojo.
Jujutsu Lessons
Satoru decides to train Yuji in secret in order to prepare him for the Kyoto Goodwill Event. Yuji is unable to properly channel his cursed energy through his emotions. In order to get him started quickly, Satoru has Yuji control his emotions while watching movies. Megumi and Nobara continue to train under Maki, Toge, and Panda after Megumi brings himself some closer following the incident with the cursed womb. He returns one of the victim's nametags to their mother and apologizes for being unable to save him.
Under Gojo sensei's training, Yuji must keep a cursed doll asleep by feeding it his own cursed energy. At the same time he must watch various movies of different genre's meant to trigger different emotions from the view. Yuji is tasked with watching the movies and keeping the doll asleep at the same time by effectively controlling his emotions to channel his cursed energy. At the same time, Megumi works with the second-years to restore his confidence. He thinks about what Sukuna told him when they fought and realizes he can use his shadows to store cursed tools to aid him in close combat.
Satoru tries to see if Sukuna made a Binding Vow with Yuji in exchange for fixing his heart, but he can't remember anything. After Satoru leaves, he's ambushed by the cursed spirit, Jogo, on the road. Geto had warned Jogo to use something like the Prison Realm to seal Satoru but he confidently refused and claimed he'd just kill Satoru himself. He tries to ambush Satoru on the road, but the world's strongest jujutsu sorcerer effortlessly shrugs off all Jogo's fire-based attacks.
Using his cursed technique: Limitless, Satoru can stop any assault using the infinite space between himself and his opponent. After a quick offensive, Satoru easily overwhelms Jogo, who realizes Geto was right when he warned him not to take Satoru head-on. Predicting Jogo's next move will be to use Domain Expansion, he disappears and reappears with Yuji, deciding that this is a perfect time to teach him about the aforementioned technique.
Jogo brings them both into his Coffin of the Iron Mountain domain where Satoru teaches Yuji this type of technique increases the users power and ensures their attacks never miss. Jogo is determined to crush Satoru for the sake of his pride, but Satoru shows Yuji the perfect way to counter a Domain. He uses a Domain Expansion of his own and effortlessly beheads Jogo, ending the fight. Hanami rescues Jogo and the rendezvous with Geto and their leader, Mahito.
Rivals from Kyoto
The meeting for the Kyoto Sister Kyoto Goodwill Event is supposed to take place at the Kyoto school soon. However, Aoi Todo and Mai Zenin, third-years from Kyoto arrive in Tokyo to intimidate their younger rivals. Aoi askes Megumi what kind of girls he likes and says depending on if his answer is boring, Aoi will beat him half to death. Megumi replies but Aoi is unsatisfied, starting a brawl between them.
Nobara tries to help only to be stopped by Mai. She compares Mai to her sister Maki, irritating her as she pulls out a gun. Despite his best efforts to put up a fight, Megumi is brutally beaten by Aoi, who's upset his last Kyoto Goodwill Event will be boring against people like Megumi. Before Megumi goes all out, Panda and Toge arrives and break up the fight.
Mai shoots Nobara using her gun loaded with bullets made from cursed energy. Maki arrives to stop Mai and Nobara recovers and wrestles her to the ground while she's distracted. Aoi returns to Mai and they both leave after one final warning for their rivals. Nobara learns that Maki doesn't possess cursed energy but nevertheless still wishes to be a jujutsu sorcerer simply to prove people wrong.
Knowing the Kyoto school principal is partially responsible for Yuji's death, Satoru visits Yoshinobu Gakuganji. He threatens to tear down the old ways of the jujutsu establishment and claims that he will raise more rebellious jujutsu sorcerers just like him to take back Jujutsu High from people like the Kyoto Principal. Not only are the students growing, but enemy cursed spirits are as well. Soon, all of their power will supersede the special grade categorization.
