Park Beom-Shik (박범식) was a Korean D-Rank Hunter and a good friend of Kim Sangshik.

Appearance[]

Park was a chubby middle-aged man man with curly black hair. During the Double Dungeon Incident, he wore a green sweater over a black shirt, track pants, and sneakers.

Personality[]

Park cared a great deal about his family, to the point that he went back to hunting to make enough cash to financially support them. He was also unsure in his skills as a hunter, as he stated to Kim that he wasn't sure if he was still good at hunting after being out of it for so long.

History[]

Park was a active Hunter, though later he quit to take care of his wife and child.

D-Rank Dungeon Arc[]

Sometime later, Park's wife became pregnant with his second child, causing Park to return to being a Hunter to earn more money. He arrived at a construction site in Seol where a gate had opened where he greeted his old colleague Kim Sangshik.

He noticed several other Hunters warmly greet Sung Jinwoo and asked Kim if Jinwoo was strong. To his surprise he was told by Kim that the young man was regarded as the weakest of all mankind. And learned that the youngster always got injured even at E-Rank Gates. However it was a good thing for the other Hunters, as if Jinwoo is coming on the raid then it was an indicator that it will be easy. Later when Song Chi-Yul began calling everyone gathered that he will be acting as party leader. Park and the other Hunters agreed with his decision to take leadership before heading out into the dungeon.[1]

In the dungeon Park came out fighting the magic beasts unscathed, Later an entrance to a second dungeon was discovered by the hunters. On the decision on whether to enter it or not and reap the rewards, Park voted to go in.[2][3] Ultimately thanks to Jinwoo's final vote they went in. The hunters found an elaborate door at the end of the entrance which Kim commented that there was something dangerous about the place, a sentiment Park agreed with. Upon opening and entering a chamber filled with giant statues, Park and the hunters began to look around and noticed a runic inscription detailing a list of rules. After the doors to the chamber closed, one of the hunters having enough decided to leave. But as soon as he touched the doors, he was killed by one of the statues. Park was horrified by the sudden death and the shock that one of the statues moved. He panicked that they will have to fight against it and the other statues.[4]

Later on the Statue of God began to move and use its heat vision on the group. Thanks to the warning by Jinwoo, Park and some of the other hunters managed to duck. At Chi-Yul's order he and the others kneeled to avoid being in the range of the statue's attack.[5]

Epilogue[]

In the new timeline created by the Cup of Reincarnation, Park was revived. Having lost all his memories as a hunter, he was seen working as a laborer along with Kim at a construction site.[6]

Abilities[]

Although not much was shown about his skill, Park was evidently competent for his rank, as he was able to fight fairly well against the D-Rank monsters in his last dungeon raid. He was also implied to be ambidextrous, as he fought with a pair of axes.
