• Great plugin, especially for Buddypress, since not all event plugins support it, specifically group events.

However, it is missing some key features including the ability to easily cancel events and notify attendees of the cancellation. Also, no quick way to mass email attendees to update them on event changes, etc., though found a 3rd party plugin that seems to do the trick. Another big thing is quirky date/time issues such as no ability to set timezone since it can only use the WordPress install’s timezone, not exactly great for community events since people will be located all over the world potentially.

I originally gave the plugin 5 stars but since changed my review to 4, 4 1/2 if I could. When I see these additional features manifest in later versions of the plugin I will definitely bump my review back to 5 stars. There are support threads from over a year ago mentioning potentially adding an easier way to cancel events for example but haven’t seen anything or heard anything new. I think this and mass email to attendees should be standard. Exporting email addresses to a spreadsheet and emailing them is a lazy solution provided by the authors, also not ideal for communities where you want to keep members email addresses hidden from prying eyes.

UPDATE: Been really diving deep into the plugin over the past few weeks as my project moves forward and I have been even more impressed with Events Manager.

Tweaking front-end stuff is pretty easy to configure (taking me forever though, ugh…) because of all the options, though as a non-coder I can’t figure out some things that require tweaks beyond what the templates provide and options available. Support didn’t really give me any useful answers (maybe if I was a coder they would have been useful answers) to the few questions I submitted so hoping when I go PRO I will get more assistance instead of single line answers that don’t really point non coders anywhere.

Either way, I found a fair amount of resources online on the support forum here (some useful code snippets too!) and their online documentation is pretty good overall albeit some information isn’t accurate. I can only imagine how far a coder could take advantage of this plugin for it does have big potential.

I’m looking forward to getting email reminder features for events when I go PRO here in the next few days.

Great work guys, nice plugin! Hoping you put out a big update soon with some new features.
