Used Oil Materials Support Grant

Recycling used oil, containers, and filters keeps them out of landfills, benefitting our environment, communities, and economy.

ARMA’s Used Oil Materials Support Grant is designed to improve how used oil, oil filters, and empty oil containers are managed at landfills, transfer stations, and recycling depots.

The benefits of the funding include:

  1. Ensuring used oil materials collected at sites are stored safely and securely.
  2. Improving access to used oil materials recycling to Albertans.

Registered used oil collection sites—which include the following—may apply for funding:

  1. Municipalities
  2. Regional Waste Authorities/Commissions
  3. First Nations and Metis Settlements within the Province of Alberta

Funding is available for the development and delivery of used oil collection infrastructure and is payable based on the actual expenses incurred by the Applicant in completing the project as evidenced by receipts and invoices provided by the Applicant to ARMA.

The level of funding will be determined on a case-by-case basis, up to a maximum of $15,000 per applicant site—subject to the available budget—and is provided on a 50/50 matching basis for eligible expenses.
