What we’re about

This group will be geared toward local residents who know have to knit or crochet using what every device to knit or crochet. The goal is to make scarves and hats for the African American community (especially the children).

If enough hats and scarves are made, (as well as, socks and blankets, for those who are skilled enough), we will meet at an agreed location in D.C. on 11/03/ of each year to had them out for free before the winter, and possibly if needed throughout the winter, if the group membership is large enough. I would like to be able to expand this project in neighborhoods across the country in the future.

I started this project last year and handed out hats and scarves on 11/03/2023. To look at some pics I took that day, you can check out my Instagram page @lovelinessislovely.

This group is not a religious, political, weed spot, club scene, pick-up place, nor a MLM recruiting spot. It's not a place for know-it-alls, braggarts or bullies. This a place where Black People (African Americans) can respectfully meet, via online or in person to do something positive for our collective community. If you're new to knitting or crocheting and want to learn and volunteer, you can reach out to me to discuss what is needed.

Men and Women are welcome to join, Ase
