The new trial will roll out in six locations including Folkestone, Leeds, Glasgow, Sunderland and Ellesmere Port, with TVs sold in the stores from as little as £100.

Customers could save up to £80 if they opt for a £160 refurbished model, as the recommended retail price for a new HD LED 50” Smart Polaroid TV is £240.

Energy ratings, barcodes and images have been printed on the TV boxes, which have been re-packaged to make it clear to customers that they are refurbished.
