A series of country case studies delineating the World Food Programme’s long-term support in strengthening national social protection systems around the globe.

This collection is based on rapid literature reviews, interviews, and consultations with WFP staff and key national stakeholders. It assesses WFP’s long-term contributions to enhancing national social protection systems across various 'building blocks,' examining its strategic objectives and roles in different contexts and highlighting key successes, challenges, and lessons learned.

The case studies have been conducted by the Centre for Social Protection at the UK Institute of Development Studies (IDS) for WFP, covering fifteen countries: Bangladesh, Cambodia, the Caribbean, Colombia, Djibouti, Ecuador, Ghana, Haiti, India, Iraq, Mauritania, Pakistan, Philippines, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
