Story

Maruo Kaido is a superhumanly strong young man who has a dream of living the same life as the heroes from his favorite manga ever since he was a child. Unfortunately, reality set in upon realizing that there is no human alive that can present a challenge for him. It wasn't until his chance encounter with Urara, a mysterious girl who wishes to form her own yakuza family, that he manages to regain hope. After saving Urara from a yakuza gang of Ayashimon, yokai disguised as humans, like herself, who are a race strong enough to make him bleed, Maruo becomes convinced that he can live out his dream by fighting more of them and sticks to Urara's side after she offers him the position of becoming her first yakuza member. Following her lead, Maruo helps to fulfill Urara's ambitions of ruling over Kabukicho's underworld where he is expected to fight off the many Ayashimon gangs running wild on the streets.

April 15, 2022 - Ayashimon ranks 23rd in Best Selling Volume 1 of 2022 in Japan. March 4, 2022 - Ayashimon Volume 1 has been released in Japan. November 15, 2021 - Ayashimon began serialization on Weekly Shonen Jump and is licensed by VIZ Media for English serialization in Viz's Shonen Jump.
