Hamster & Gretel: Pinball Punch! is a game released for the DisneyNOW app to promote Hamster & Gretel. It is an arcade-style pinball game in which the goal is to rack up a high score by launching the pinball to bumpers and entrances that earn the player bonus points, using the flippers.

Gameplay[]

Like any pinball game, players control the flippers by tapping them on the screen, which they need to use to launch the pinball all over the board, and gain points by having the pinball interact with the machine's set pieces. They need to prevent the pinball from reaching the bottom and rolling off the board, otherwise they lose a life. Players don't lose a life when losing the ball immediately, however, as when it happens within 30 seconds, the ball will be saved once per life. Players have three lives to earn as many points as they can; losing all of them ends the game.

Unique to Hamster & Gretel: Pinball Punch! are short minigames that trigger when the player reach certain entrances after having met certain conditions on the board. The minigames are based on actual Hamster & Gretel episodes, corresponding with the machine the player is currently playing on. Winning the minigame will turn the pinball in a Hamster Ball (Hamster curled up in a ball), which will earn the player more points.

After gaining the Hamster Ball, Gretel may show up. Tapping on Gretel will trigger an event to punch, shake and rattle the machine as much as possible within a couple of seconds by tapping on the screen rapidly. Doing so will earn the player a lot of points, but may give the player a disadvantage in return, differing per machine.

Machines[]

Hamster & Gretel: Pinball Punch! features a total of five boards (referred to as machines) to play on. Each is based on a segment from the first five episodes of Hamster & Gretel, and is named and themed after its corresponding villain-of-the-week. Only one is playable from the start by default, with the rest needing to be unlocked by earning enough points on the previous board.
