About the accommodation

Excellent tent sites in sparse birch forest are located about 100 m from the main building.

At the mountain cabin the mobile coverage is limited.

Rogen is most likely an old settlement. Graves from the Bronze Age have been discovered near the cabin and stone slab paintings thousands of years old are in the area. The county’s longest system of trapping pits, which are over ten kilometres long, are also in the area.

Explore STF Rogen
– In the summer, follow the trail to Tandsjövålen, 993 m above sea level, with nice views. In winter, over the ice to Storrödtjärn 13 km or Skedbro 12 km.
– Rent a canoe in Rogen and paddle to Skedbrostugan and leave the canoe there. Fish for char, trout, pike or perch in nearby lakes – summers as well as winters. The forests in the area are also good for finding mushrooms.
– In addition to exploring the lake areas, a magical activity is to hike in an ancient wolf lichen-rich pine forest by the cabin. Wolf lichen is intensely green wherever it clings to old pines and gives a truly special character to the landscape.

This is how it works in a mountain cabin
Our mountain cabins offer a simple and authentic stay in multi-bedded rooms with self catering. The rooms are different sizes with bunk beds and usually heated by gas stoves. On site you will be greeted by a cabin manager. As a guest you chop wood, fetch water from the stream or lake, wash up and clean up after youself.
