  • Wild's Troy Grosenick: Not ready for start of camp

Grosenick (undisclosed) is listed as injured on the Wild's training camp roster released Wednesday.

Grosenick signed with the Wild on a two-way contract after going 17-8-2 with a 2.56 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 30 games with AHL Milwaukee last year. He'll likely report to AHL Iowa this season to serve as a veteran mentor and tandem partner with Jesper Wallstedt should the prospect goalie not make the NHL roster.

  • Wild's Michael Milne: Injured to begin camp

Milne (undisclosed) is listed as injured on the Wild's training camp roster.

Milne also began last season injured, which limited him to 40 games with AHL Iowa in 2023-24. He produced a solid eight goals and 13 assists. The 21-year-old winger isn't a pedigree prospect, so he'll likely spend most of 2024-25 in the AHL once again.

  • Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Getting start Saturday

Wallstedt is set to be between the pipes on the road against the Jets on Saturday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.

Wallstedt taking the first game of the preseason by no means guarantees he will earn a roster spot coming out of training camp, but it certainly is something worth monitoring. The 21-year-old netminder has just three games of NHL experience, having gone 2-1-0 with a 3.02 GAA and one shutout last season. Veteran Marc-Andre Fleury is slated to serve in the backup role Saturday, giving Filip Gustavsson the night off.

  • Wild's Travis Boyd: Playing summer hockey

Boyd (pectoral) has played in three games in Da Beauty League this summer, racking up one goal and three assists.

Boyd's participation in the summer league, which features several NHL stars, should be a good indication that his pectoral injury is behind him. After logging just 16 games with the Coyotes last season, the Minnesota native signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Wild this offseason. If he can secure his place on the Opening Night roster, Boyd should be capable of getting back over the 30-point threshold, a mark he hit in each of his first two seasons in Arizona.

  • Wild's Brock Faber: Lands eight-year extension

Faber signed an eight-year, $68 million contract extension with Minnesota on Monday.

Faber has one more season left on his entry-level contract before his cap hit becomes $8.5 million in 2025-26. He amassed eight goals, 47 points, 136 shots on net, 150 blocked shots and 65 hits in 82 games during his rookie campaign in 2023-24. He finished second in Calder Trophy voting and has a bright future ahead of him as a top-pairing defender.

  • Wild's Graeme Clarke: Pens two-way deal

Clarke signed a one-year, two-way contract with Minnesota on Tuesday.

Clarke made his NHL debut with the Devils last season, logging three NHL games in which he notched six hits, two shots and zero points. While the 23-year-old winger didn't contribute much offensively at the NHL level, he did produce in the minors with 49 points in 67 outings with AHL Utica. Given his two-way deal, Clarke figures to split his time between levels next year, which will limit his overall fantasy value.

  • Wild's Samuel Walker: Signs one-year deal

Walker agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with Minnesota on Thursday.

Walker has just 13 games of NHL experience under his belt over the last two seasons, including four games during the 2023-24 campaign in which he recorded zero points, three shots and two hits. While the 25-year-old winger could get the occasional call-up this upcoming season, he will likely spend the bulk of the year in the minors with AHL Iowa.

  • Wild's Adam Raska: Lands two-way deal

Raska signed a one-year, two-way deal with Minnesota on Monday, per PuckPedia.

Raska has been held without a point in 13 career NHL appearances, including five last year with the Wild. The 22-year-old winger scored three goals and seven points in 49 games with AHL Iowa in 2023-24. He'll likely spend most of the 2024-25 season at the AHL level.

  • Wild's Rasmus Kumpulainen: Loaned to overseas club

Kumpulainen will spend the next two seasons on loan with the Lahden Pelicans in Finland.

Kumpulainen spent last year playing for OHL Oshawa, racking up 28 goals and 28 assists in 58 contests. Selected by the Wild with the 53rd overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, the 18-year-old center shouldn't be expected to make his NHL debut until the 2026-27 season, though he could certainly be recalled from his loan stay prior to its two-year expiration.

  • Wild's Declan Chisholm: Pens one-year pact

Chisholm signed a one-year, $1 million contract with Minnesota on Saturday, according to PuckPedia.

Chisholm contributed three goals, six assists, 29 shots on net and 38 blocked shots across 31 regular-season appearances between the Wild and Jets in 2023-24. The 24-year-old defender should be able to claim a bottom-pairing role with Minnesota going into the 2024-25 campaign.

  • Wild's Brendan Gaunce: Makes two-year commitment

Gaunce signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Wild on Monday.

Gaunce had two goals and four points in 24 outings with Columbus in 2023-24. He also recorded 19 goals and 39 points in 46 regular-season appearances with AHL Cleveland. The 30-year-old will probably start the 2024-25 campaign in the minors, but Gaunce is likely to spend portions of the season with Minnesota as an injury replacement.

  • Wild's Joseph Cecconi: Grabs one-year deal

Cecconi signed a one-year, two-way contract from the Wild on Monday.

Cecconi has played exclusively in the minors since graduating from the University of Michigan back in 2019. Selected by the Stars in the fifth round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, the 27-year-old blueliner was never able to convince the organization to give him a shot. Given his lack of NHL experience, another year in the AHL is the most likely result for Cecconi in 2024-25.

  • Wild's Reese Johnson: Signs one-year agreement

Johnson (concussion) signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Wild on Monday.

Johnson had two goals, five points, 40 PIM and 109 hits in 42 contests with Chicago in 2023-24. Provided he's healthy, the 25-year-old should be in the mix for a bottom-six spot with Minnesota out of training camp.

  • Wild's Devin Shore: Agrees to two-way deal

Shore signed a one-year, two-way contract with Minnesota on Monday.

Shore has played in 443 NHL games over the course of his nine-year NHL career, so he should at least get a look during training camp. Still, the fact that the Wild weren't willing to offer the 29-year-old center a one-way contract should be telling regarding their plans for him. Even when he has played in the NHL, Shore's usage has been minimal -- he's logged less than 10 minutes per game in each of the last three seasons.

  • Wild's Ben Jones: Inks two-year contract

Jones signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Wild on Monday.

Jones had 21 goals, 43 points and 59 PIM in 72 regular-season contests with AHL Calgary in 2023-24. The 25-year-old has appeared in two career NHL games, recording no points, two PIM and four hits over those outings.

  • Wild's Troy Grosenick: Picks up one-year deal

Grosenick signed a one-year, two-way contract with Minnesota on Monday.

Grosenick is a career minor leaguer, having played in just four NHL games since leaving Union College as an undrafted free agent back in 2013. The veteran backstop provides the Wild with cover at the AHL level if the team decides to move on from Filip Gustavsson, thereby promoting Jesper Wallstedt to the backup role in Minnesota.

  • Wild's Jacob Middleton: Agrees to four-year extension

Middleton signed a four-year, $17.4 million contract extension with Minnesota on Monday, per Darren Dreger of TSN.

Middleton has one more season left on his three-year, $7.35 million deal. He accounted for seven goals, 25 points, 85 shots on net, 77 PIM, 161 blocked shots and 147 hits over 80 regular-season contests in 2023-24. Middleton will likely continue to see top-pairing minutes for the Wild in the upcoming campaign.

  • Wild's Cameron Crotty: Signs two-way contract

Crotty signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Wild on Monday.

Crotty made his NHL debut for the Coyotes last season, logging 10:03 of ice time in a 4-2 win over Dallas on March 24. The 25-year-old blueliner didn't record a point but dished out four hits to go with two blocked shots. Crotty doesn't have much offense, so fantasy managers probably shouldn't bother tracking whether he is playing in the AHL or NHL next season.

  • Wild's Travis Boyd: Signs two-way deal

Boyd (pectoral) penned a one-year, two-way contract with Minnesota on Monday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.

Boyd played in just 16 games for the Coyotes last season in which he tallied two goals, six assists and 12 shots on net while averaging a mere 9:37 of ice time. Based on his two-way deal, it seems the Wild may view Boyd as more of a veteran presence for their minor-league club -- though he does have a pair of 30-point seasons under his belt. How healthy Boyd is come training camp will likely determine whether he makes the Opening Night roster, and he's unlikely to see more than a bottom-six role.
